Some fun shots from the Bucktown Arts Fest...it was a beautiful weekend, so fun to connect with friends and customers old and new! This was my debut show in the art fair world, 18 years ago...1995. My, how time flies! I had an unfortunate incident towards the end of the day Sunday, my temporary crown on my front tooth came off! I was mortified, but in the end it made for a lot of giggling and laughing with artist friends and customers...and it was very sweet when a little girl showed me her lack of '2' front teeth...what was I complaining about?! This is me being brave, posting on the internets...here I am, in all my hillbilly glory:

Collectors Corner2 CommentsTime to head back outside to sell some art!
Events, Shows & Ar...CommentI look forward to returning to Iowa tomorrow for my first outdoor show of the season: The Marion Arts Festival. Here's a peek at some new pieces I finished up this week:
My display is going to look a little different this year...I had to say goodbye to my big black carpeted panels (see bottom photo), as I traded in my dear old pick up last fall. My new mesh panels fold down nicely to fit into my little Element...Eloise! (yes, I named her!) ; )
The mesh will be cooler compared to solid walls...and my booth much brighter since the sidewalls will be white, I do have a black cover for the back wall. Did a test set up of the hardware in a local park to save time on site...my load of steel has increased by about 75 pounds!
Forgot to post before I left for the show...stay tuned for a recap!
Vintage ALF Paintings for Sale at the Bucktown Arts Fest this weekend!
Art For Sale, Events, Shows & Ar...4 CommentsI'm very grateful to share that we sold our house in this impossible market...and I'm downsizing my life in a big way, so that means I'm ready to part with some vintage art works that I've made over the last 15 years. I'll have many at this weekend's Bucktown Arts Fest. This little show is still going strong and now, bigger than ever. I'll be selling lots of new works from the summer as well as vintage pieces from the late 90's...pieces I painted when I lived in the neighborhood. C'mon by...let's liven up your walls!
Anne's Booth Location: #14
Northwest Corner of the Show on Belden
Dates & Times: Saturday, August 27th & Sunday August 28th
11:00 a.m. - Dusk
Round Trip Flight, 30x30 Acrylic on Canvas in Wood Frame: $500
This is the only large piece I have left from my "flying people" series...I did many of these before Izzy and other dogs came into my life...they were inspired by dreams of flying!
Day & Night, 28x30 Acrylic on Wood, Framed: $400
Strike 3, 25x49 Acrylic on Canvas w/wood frame: $600
This piece chronicles the traumatic gang problems we lived through in Bucktown back in the 90's. I still have the quarter brick that came through our window at 3am...our sweet salvation: we had just put in an order for new windows the week before!
Kick-off Party for Bucktown Arts Fest!
Events, Shows & Ar...CommentTime is flying and I'm exhausted after a week of moving...But I will update you on that another time...business first! Tonight is the Kick-off Party for the Bucktown Arts Fest at the Jackson Junge Gallery in Wicker Park. I donated "Three Birds Flying" which I painted in my Bucktown studio several years ago...hope it finds a new home tonight and helps raise some funds for the Fest & neighborhood art programs!

Eastern Iowa Life....
Events, Shows & Ar..., Press & Published ...Comment....I was excited to get some press after the Marion Art Fair last weekend inEastern Iowa Life. It felt great to get my tent out and do my first outdoor show of the season, the weather ended up cooperating and we had a good turn out crowd wise. Also enjoyed getting out on the road, so easy to get caught up in urban life, the open road stretching out before me is always a welcome sight.
new collectors!

Iowa has the most beautiful rest stops of any state I've seen, they all seem to incorporate original art work into their design and on the grounds...this one 30+ miles west of Davenport.
